Magda Butrym Gathered Cotton-Blend Bustier Dress
Espresso brown throughout, in a cotton blend with a dry papery hand that holds a crease rather than falling out of one. The bodice is a true bustier, boned and molded through the cup, cut to a sweetheart line and hung from straps fine enough to read as an afterthought. At the hip the seam drops and the skirt gathers hard, blousing out and then drawing back in toward the ankle so the silhouette curves instead of falling. Structured above, weightless below, which is the whole argument.
